Regan Kline began her dance training and teaching career in upstate New York, where she attended the State University of New York at Oswego. Regan began teaching in 1989 and has taught dance students, beginner through advanced, both in upstate New York and locally. Regan opened VDC in 1999 and she has brought together a dedicated and enthusiastic team of teachers that are committed to sharing their passion for dance with our dancers. Regan’s mission is to offer children a positive and supportive environment where they can express themselves creatively and grow into strong, confident teenagers and adults.

Lisa Flannery has been a member of the Virginia Dance Center teaching staff since 2007.  Growing up an army brat, Lisa started off in print and commercial work until the first day of ballet class and then was addicted to dance! Training and technique have come from many years of competitions, performing, and taking master classes under Muna Tsung, Frank Hatchett, Nicole Rome, Lauren Graham, and Renee Cheneu to name a few. In addition to teaching her classes at VDC, Lisa is also VDC’s Creative Director. She loves developing our recital storyline and making the story come to life on stage each season!

Andrea Jiles graduated from Shenandoah University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, as well as studies in Psychology and Elementary education and has been dancing for over twenty five years. Ballet was her first love, but she has grown to love all genres. Since beginning to teach dance in 1998, her classes have included ballet, lyrical, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre from preschool ages through adult. Throughout her dance career, she has had the opportunity to dance the leads in several ballets including Nutcracker, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and many more in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Andrea began teaching at VDC in 2011 and loves working with our dancers.

Originally from Atlanta, Elizabeth (Liz) Nahser received the majority of her training at the Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, and also studied at the American Ballet Theatre and the Cleveland San Jose Ballet. Liz is a graduate of Mercyhurst College, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and concentrations in performance, teaching, and choreography. Liz has performed with several professional ballet companies, including the Manassas Dance Company and Lake Erie Ballet. Her classical repertoire includes La Bayadere, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Giselle, A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. This is Liz’s 20th year teaching at VDC!

Jessica Petchenick is originally from Northern Virginia and has been dancing since the age of three. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance. Jessica attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA and graduated with degrees in Psychology and Dance. Jessica has been teaching dance to children and working administratively in dance studios since 2012. When she’s not dancing, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She joined the VDC team as Operations Director in the summer of 2020 and is thrilled to be here!

Tammy Taylor acquired a B.A. in Sociology from Norfolk State University, while studying dance at various dance institutions throughout the Hampton Roads region. Tammy has held several dance instructor positions in the Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia area. Tammy has also written and implemented a dance program for children, teens and adults. She started teaching at VDC in 2015 and loves sharing her passion for Hip Hop with our dancers.

Erin began dance class at VDC at age 5, during our second year of operation, and has continued dancing at VDC ever since. Erin was a dedicated dance student and she studied multiple styles of dance throughout college. She has a strong background in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Theater Dance and Hip Hop. Erin graduated from George Mason University, with a degree in Public Relations. She recently returned to Manassas after completing the Disney College Program in Orlando, FL. Erin began teaching at VDC in 2017, after working for 4 years as an assistant and substitute teacher. Erin was the first VDC Alumni to be hired as VDC staff!

Reghan Scheatzle was born and grew up in Manassas. She began dance classes at Virginia Dance Center when she was just three years old! Reghan studied a wide variety of dance styles, such as Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Theater Dance, and Hip-Hop, before ultimately focusing her area of study on Ballet, Pointe, and Variations. Reghan is excited to join the VDC staff and to begin working with our dancers!

Ida is excited to be joining VDC this season! She is a dancer, actress, singer and music producer. Ida grew up studying dance and training at the Metropolitan School of the Arts, San Francisco Ballet School and Steps on Broadway. Ida received training from renowned instructors in a wide variety of dance disciplines. Through her training, she developed a deep understanding of technique and quality of movement and she is passionate about sharing that knowledge with her students. Through her teaching, she aims to bring out the unique artistry that each dancer possesses and she is honored and excited to contribute to their growth and success.

Summer Lofland began her dance journey, at the age of 7, in her hometown, Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life she has trained in many styles, competed in numerous competitions, and performed in many showcases and local events. Her favorite style of dance is tap. One of her favorite memories, is performing at the One Year Anniversary of the Hard Rock in Atlantic City. Summer is currently a student at George Mason University, where she is majoring in Business Management and minoring in Dance. She began her teaching career in the summer of 2022 and is excited to join the VDC staff!
