Destiny Howell is from Puerto Rico, but moved around the states a lot with her military mother. Destiny grew up watching many of her idols perform on stage and dreamed of being on the television screen when she got older. She played sports all throughout high school and danced at many fitness centers and studios. Destiny focused almost exclusively on Hip Hop throughout her years of dancing, but studied Ballet and Jazz when she was younger. She fell in love with the style of Popping/Animation, as well as choreography. Her mother was a dancer and taught fitness classes, like Zumba, and Destiny often tagged along and grew to love the idea of teaching people the art of dance. Destiny attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and taught Hip Hop in the city while studying. She recently moved to the DMV area to continue school online and be closer to home. Destiny currently dances on two competitive OPEN teams at Adrenaline Studio, Rage and Fusion, and also coaches half year teams and teaches various styles of Hip Hop. One of her teams, Rage, earned the 2nd place title at the Dance Worlds in Orlando for the 2021-2022 season, as well as 1st in the nation, and they hope to earn the 1st place slot during the 2022-2023 season! VDC is excited to have Destiny join our staff and she looks forward to sharing her Hip Hop expertise with our dancers.
