“Virginia Dance
Center is an awesome place to dance. All of the teachers are nice, and
they all have their own style. There are friendly classmates too. I
have danced at other studios before and did the same thing every week,
but here we learn something new every class. Working hard in these classes
pays off by the time of the recital. Dancing is my favorite thing to
do, and I’m glad I get to do it here.” Lauren,
age 12, VDC dancer
“My daughter has been at VDC for four years and dancing for
almost 13. When she decided it was time to leave her previous studio,
she visited a number of others and we let her think it through on her
own, one of the first big life decisions she's handled almost completely
on her own. Almost as soon as she visited VDC, she knew it would be
her new “home” for dance.
This is a studio that offers both discipline and fun with dance. The
instructors are very serious in their approach to, and appreciation
of, dance and they expect their students to be disciplined and self-controlled,
yet they communicate a joy and love of dance that brings fun to the
whole experience. The instructors are simply top notch and without exception
are marvelous role models.
As a parent, when looking for a new studio, I was concerned about the
dance style and costumes for performances. We have been extremely pleased
in the choices for both and feel confident in the decisions of the instructors
and Ms. Regan concerning appropriate behavior and dress for their dancers.
I couldn’t recommend this studio more highly.”

“I love to dance
at VDC because the teachers are good and they push you to do the best
you can. The dancing is hard but it is never above your ability. The
teachers will help you if you need help and they won’t get all
mad at you if you can’t get a step. All the teachers are good
natured and will define where you need to improve and help you.”

“When my daughter
broke her arm at the end of second grade, her plans for taking gymnastics
over the summer had to change. Fortunately, we found Virginia Dance
Center nearby and saw they had summer sessions -- perfect for introducing
kids who are new to dance or trying new styles of dance. She felt so
awkward and self-conscious with her shoulder-to-wrist cast, but soon
the great music in her Just Jazz class won her over and had her participating
and dancing with all the other kids. She enjoyed herself so much that
first summer! Since then, she's continued taking Jazz classes for the
past 3 years, loving every class, every costume, and every performance.
This summer, she's trying a Ballet class and going to a week-long Musical
Theater dance camp at VDC. And of course, she's already looking forward
to next year's Jazz classes and performance!” Cara,
parent of VDC dancer
“I like dancing
at VDC because: 1. the teachers are very encouraging and kind; 2. the
studio is new and clean; 3. I can make friends out of school who enjoy
the same kind of sport/art as me; and 4. it gives me a chance to compete
with other dancers in competitions.” Stephanie, age
12, VDC dancer
